The Pecos River Ranch, home of Val Kilmer in New Mexico, is becoming a hotbed of controversy. The Pecos River Ranch is a several-thousand-acre ranch just outside of Santa Fe. Val Kilmer has applied to turn the ranch into a bed and breakfast, and while the application was initially approved, it has been contested by the ranch’s neighbors. At more than $200-per-night, per person, is the Pecos River Ranch going to be a great place to stay, or the center of controversy?
Val Kilmer has been accused as a "bad neighbor" after some run-ins with some of the locals.

National Flag Day
Today is National Flag Day.
On June 14, 1777, the Continental Congress in Philadelphia adopted the Stars and Stripes as the national flag. According to the National Flag Day Foundation, Flag Day was born on June 14, 1885, after Bernard Cigrand, a 19-year-old teacher in Waubeka, Wisc., placed a flag on his desk and assigned essays on its significance. It took two presidents and an act of Congress, but years later Flag Day became official.
In the “crowning achievement” of Cigrand’s life, on May 30 1916, President Woodrow Wilson called for a day of observance for the flag. Then, in August 1949, President Truman signed off on the declaration from Congress, which officially marked June 14 as National Flag Day. While Cigrand died in 1932, he received his glory posthumously in 2004 when Congress voted unanimously to recognize Flag Day’s origins in Ozaukee County, Wisc.. Though the day is not a federal holiday, many cities hold Flag Day parades in honor of Old Glory.

Arkansas Flooding
Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe said that there is no way to know exactly how many people are missing after flash floods ravaged an Arkansas campground. At least 16 people are dead and 36 are missing. The Red Cross reported that up to 300 people were in the area that was overcome by a wall of water. Flash floods occurred at approximately 2:00 a.m., early Friday, while many of those camping at the Albert Pike Recreation Area were asleep.
